BP Cost: 40 Records speak of Rhyth in the Westlands from as early back as those records were kept, it is held by most scholars that they were here when the other races arrived. Originally the Rhyth were more spread throughout the West, residing mainly in the lands now known as Ondil and Mirtar. Accounts say they knew the Talurian invaders were coming long before anyone saw the invaders' ships. As a group they simply packed up their belongings, abandoned their settlements and retreated to their sacred lands, the lake-filled, mountain-ringed, steam-wreathed Rhythikos, The Land where the Spirits Whisper. The Talurians, after conquering the other races, would eventually get round to trying to conquer Rhythikos, but they were turned back by the spirit magic of the 'Unanja' or 'Spirit Mouths', as they are more commonly known. These Unanja performed great spiritual rituals, magic so powerful that the spirits of the dead rose up from their slumber in uncountable numbers, halting the Talurian advance in its tracks, driving them from Rhythikos and discouraging them from ever trying again. Throughout the reign of the Talurian Empire in the West- sightings of the Rhyth were almost unheard of. However, in the time since the Occupation was overcome and the invaders pushed into the sea, a small number of Rhyth, those curious or possessed of wanderlust, have trickled back into the Westlands. Some even choose to settle in other nations instead of returning to their homeland, although these are known somewhat derogatorily as 'Manadi' or 'Lost Children' by more traditional Rhyth. All characters who select a Rhythi bloodline are descendants of these so-called Manadi. Rhyth are graceful, elegant and strong willed.
